BAS®Evazite UV Pre-formed, waterproof, UV stable, cross-linked foam joint seal

Picture
BAS®Evazite UV is a pre-formed, low density, cross-linked, closed cell, light stabilized EVA/PE (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate-Polyethylene) foam joint seal. It is bonded in place using BAS®ProPoxy, a 2-part water tolerant epoxy adhesive/primer. BAS®Evazite UV is specifically designed to accommodate multi directional movements commonly found on a bridge structures, building expansion joints, parking decks, and water treatment facilities. From its nominal width, it can accept compression of up to 60%, tension of 30% and shear of 50%. Due to BAS®Evazite’s closed-cell structure, BAS®Evazite is resistant to abrasion, oxidation, oils, salt and other materials that come in contact with the seal. Grooves are placed along the vertical edges of the seal to ensure that sufficient surface area is available for the epoxy bonding agent to form a permanent, robust bond to the structure. Additional features are UV resistance and the ability to withstand hydro-static pressure.

RECOMMENDED FOR:
  • Sealing expansion joints on bridges, parking decks, stadiums, and buildings
  • Repair and maintenance of existing joints
  • Expansion joints with varying joint widths
  • Noise walls and barriers
  • water treatment plants
FEATURES Include:
  • Contains a Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (H.A.L.S.) for increased UV stability
  • Versatile movement – Can accommodate movement 90% of its nominal width making it suitable for seismic movements (60% compression, 30% tension and 50% horizontal / vertical shear)
  • Low density closed cell ethylene vinyl acetate-polyethylene
  • The chemical blowing agent, produces a closed cellular structure that will not 'balloon up' into traffic. It allows the seal to be installed close to the riding surface. This minimizes debris build-up that would cause premature seal degradation.
  • Accommodates varying joint widths
  • Custom joints can be accommodated
